F# Software Foundation Granted 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status

Henderson, Nevada - The F# Software Foundation is proud to announce it is now officially a public charity with tax-exempt status in the United States, under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Contributions donated to the F# Software Foundation are fully tax-deductible retroactive to the founding of the corporation on October 29th, 2014.  The F# Software Foundation is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which may further broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to serve the F# community.

"Obtaining status under IRC 501(c)(3) is a major milestone for the F# Software Foundation. This opens many doors and brings new opportunities for us to expand fundraising and further our mission of promoting F# and facilitating the growth of a diverse, international community of F# programmers," remarked the Executive Director Reed Copsey, Jr.

The F# Software Foundation is currently working on broadening its offering of educational material, and has recently formed Working Groups for Training and Education, Communications, and Core Engineering aimed towards expanding the reach of F# through better educational materials.

The F# Software Foundation Tax Identification Number (EID) is 30-0845638.  The IRS letter granting the F# Software Foundation its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is available upon request.  Donation inquiries can be sent to [email protected].
